In search of a Dream

I am certain that many of you reading these words will have at some point in your lives 'cherished a dream' which you hoped would come true some-day?

My particular dream was quite simple.  It came about when I was studying in art college as a mature student - I had to spend a number of weeks sketching in the 'National Museum of Wales' in Cardiff - It was during this time that I was introduced to the wonderful paintings of some of the top Victorian watercolourists - The paintings of 'Turner', 'John Sell Cotman', 'Girtin', and many others were on show; but the painting that had the greatest effect on me was one by the artist 'John Varley', it was this one that made me realise that this is what I was meant to do - I wanted to be a professional watercolour painter! It took some time, and a great deal of study and practice, but I got there!
